Andrew's visit

Andrew (Naomi's cousin) drove over from the Charente to pay us a visit and to catch up with developments re. the barns. M and I took him out for lunch at the local Relais (we'd not been there before) to thank him, in some part, for his generosity (letting us stay for so long in his 'gite'). As we expected the experience was very french and very.......french!

We were shown to our table and food just started to arrive!

Here's the bill.

Five courses + pre-dinner drinks + 1 litre of red = 2 coffees

1. Melon halves
2. Skate wings in a caper and olive oil dressing
3. Pot au feu (local beef) (not to M's taste)
4. Cheese board
5. Choice of desserts

Nice to see you back on the Blog, you Knipes. L and I are getting broadband now, and we've bought a new compooter too (tha's Norfik) so I may soon post pictures myself. Though not quite like yours - the last bill I had (from the Nazma curry house in Mag. St. on Saturday) wasn't as interesting as yours!

Hooray! May I echo John's sentiments and welcome you back too.

I've been very poor blogger - staying in Cambridge all last week with no internet access. I 'll post again soon. I like the sound of yr lunch. I expect Andrew consumed his share.
