Ornette Coleman and the tadpoles

Will emailed today, asking if I wanted to go with him to see Ornette Coleman at the Barbican. Neither of us is really enthusiastic: Will because he isn’t that familiar with Ornette’s music, me because the Barbican is such a wrong place to see a master of free jazz. Will’s real preference was to go and see something newer and rawer at the Jazz Café, so that’s how we left it. We’ll look out for something we both want to see. Like Ornette Coleman at the Jazz café…

Meanwhile in our pond (I’m thinking of offspring for which we feel responsible) the tadpoles mostly seem to have hatched and are peacefully feeding on the algae on the bottom. The tension mounts…
