Croatia - University of Rijeka

Here I am at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Rijeka last week. They let me play with their new piloting simulator (they say they can simulate any harbour in the world in any weather condition). I crashed my patrol boat into a freighter at 30 knots (my *instructor* kept pushing the throttle to max).
Next month it's Portoroz, then Split and Dubrovnik next year. Faculties of Maritime studies each time, but this is coincidental - a project I'm involved with this year is about teaching quality in the Croatian and Slovenian University systems in general. It's just that the best venues for the project meetings are on the coast!

I had almost forgotten about the blog

Well it has been a long time. So long that I had forgotten what to do to post anything and I have been reminded that I have another blog on the garden that I have done nothing with. Having said this I know that this is partly because a blog does not quite fit the bill with what I want to do. I want to create a history of the garden and also a diary. However, now I have a web space on my brand new business bit of space on Tiscali so all I need now is to find out how to activate it and how to work it. No trouble of course to a technically capaable person like me! So watch this space and maybe one day we will have a link from this to that.
